How to remove toilet ring stains from a toilet bowl

Toilet ring stains can be so unsightly, especially when you have guests around, and as a result, you want to try everything possible to avoid or clean them as soon as you see them forming in your toilet bowl.

These rings can appear due to mineral buildup from hard water, or they can also form when a toilet bowl is neglected and not cleaned for an extended period. However, how do you remove toilet ring stains? In this post, you will learn how to remove toilet ring stains from a toilet bowl using various products and methods, step by step.

To remove toilet ring stains from a toilet bowl, you will need a strong toilet bowl cleaner with acidic or bleach properties, specifically designed to remove stains. You can also use homemade cleaners, such as a paste made from baking soda and dish soap, or a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and dish soap. One of the best cleaning products I use for this purpose is Zep acidic toilet bowl cleaner, which contains hydrochloric acid or phosphoric acid.

What you will need

  • An acidic toilet bowl cleaner ( Zep Acid toilet bowl cleaner) / toilet bowl cleaner with bleach /baking soda and dish soap paste, or a mixture of equal parts 3% hydrogen peroxide and dish soap.

Wet the stone thoroughly and ensure it is well soaked. Please do not use it dry, as it may scratch the surfaces in the toilet bowl.

Use the pumice stone to gently rub the stained areas. You will notice the stone wearing off as you clean the stain.

When you are done and satisfied with the results, flush the toilet to remove any leftover residue.
